An hearse seen in the early morning traffic, carrying the just departed.
You could see the legs of the corpse in the open door of the vehicle. Not sure why they don’t have vehicles which fit the freezer boxes to carry the deceased. This looks spooky, very casual in attitude.

The Kirk

The 185 years old and 166 feet tall “The Kirk” as its called, the St. Andrews Kirk is at the Poonamalle High Road near Egmore.
Conceived and executed by Major Thomas Fort de Havilland and Col. James Caldwell, the Kirk is modelled along the lines of St. Martin-in-the-fields, London. The church was consecrated in 1821.

Rangoli Homes

Chennai seems to have taken to bright and cheerful colours for their new/renovated residences. The Oranges, Yellows, Roses & purples which were never used are now quite common. One such residences near Saidapet which sports a Rangoli of colours.
Soon the building to its right will sport a new colour i guess after remodelling …

Vrindhavan ….

“Vrindhavan”, the speciality South Indian Vegetarian restaurant at The New Woodlands Hotel, R K Salai, Chennai. The walls adorn such lovely paintings of Lord Krishna and his chronicles.
The food is heavenly, only sad part is they’ve stopped their popular Tiffin Thaali (a meal with tiffin and not rice/roti).

This Ganesha seems to be in a better premise, by the OMR, near VHS Hospital. The temple has got a fresh coat of paint and well maintained.
I watch quite a few passersby stop for a second and offer a prayer always near these temples on the streets.

The residents sincerly hope the users adhere to the rules by the book & spirit. Any amount of policing doesn’t curb the traffic violations unless we all, the road users abide [...]
