Chariots … not just for the kings

Many North Indians living in the Sowcarpet / Parrys / Kilpauk areas prefer the Chariots to drive the Groom and his coterie to the marriage hall / mandir. Though the popular one for the occasion is the Horse alone, with the fear / unavailability of single horses probably drive the families to these chariots.

  1. WOW – those are magnificent carriages! Wonderful and colorful! I want to ride in one!

Ram : Also get married in India, again? ;)

  2. love the carriage… it’s quite colorful…

Ram : Ha haa .. yes …. Thanks

  3. Nothing to beat the horse ride. I think the tradition is that the horse has to be a female one!

Mine was in a open car around Parthasarathy Temple, Triplicane, twenty years back :)

Ram : Nostalgia i guess … the red herald and the works uh!?
