Tamizharasan, works on weekends at the Koyambedu Vegetable market at his family shop which sells pumpkins in wholesale. Is studying on other days of the week at a neighbourhood school.

    Don’t know if he brought his books along to study though it would be difficult to concentrate in a market that would be buzzing all the time.

    In your blog in the People Week section you have brought out so many of such young boys who work in weekends / after school hours to help their parents. Have you seen the contrast that our children at home do not even do the small help of searching the remote control of the TV for us?

    Ram: An amazing correlation Sathya, actually didn’t notice the commonality till you spotted. But what our kids do at home is entirely in our hands … if we allow them permanently with remote, they’d be couch potatoes only ….
