On a race day

Madras Race Club, near Guindy has about 100-200 eager race enthusiasts (or should we say Race Bet’rs) gather on most Sundays to place their bets, deal with odds and pick their favourite horses racing across various Indian Race destinations. So there’s a trade which has the essentials like the racing guides, race bulletins, histories to track etc before one places an educated bet in front of the MRC.

    It is the poor people who get lured by Horse Racing and end up losing whatever little money they have. This place has ruined several families and I am surprised that we still have horse races with betting………………………
